FURNITURE
TROPICALLY INFLUENCED
|
|
Tropical style is all about comfort, ease, and utility and is eclectic by definition. The style is characterized by warm and soothing colors drawn mostly from natural elements such as the sea, sky, and vegetation.
This fun style is very representative of tropical destinations like Hawaii or Australia and more exotic places like the West Indies, Bali, and the jungles of the Caribbean. Use of natural materials like bamboo, rattan, jute, and exotic wood furniture such as teak is ubiquitous. Fabrics and accessories are usually printed with island motifs, tropical plants and materials, framed dried plants, and natural textures with simple floral prints or various topics in the jungle. By using a tropical influence, you can create a home oasis.

- The Palmer Canopy Beach Bed features a simple silhouette and subtle refinement with richly grained teak with a sandblasted, Beach finish.
- The Amalfi Bench captivates with a sea grass back rest – hand woven and bent into shape – and is accented with sand blasted teak and a comfortable cushion upholstered in a high performance fabric.
- The Royce Coffee Table is a natural beauty. The versatile Fog finish pairs perfectly with a faux cement top – the result is chic and simple.
- The chic Marley Side Table pays homage to the textural beauty of handwoven rope. Inset with an aged-brass medallion, it adds a bit of jewelry with ease.
- The Tulum Occasional Chair adds natural beauty wherever it goes. Handwoven rope accents the teak and rattan for a sophisticated note. A cozy cushion in a high performance fabric relaxes the look.

|
- With a nod to mid-Century sensibilities married to functional whimsy, the Ness Chair takes comfort and visual appeal to a new level.
- Add extraordinary warmth and texture to any space with this lush Woven Palm Puff. Crafted from finely woven palm leaves, this pouf is designed for comfort and eye catching allure.

|
- The Waterfall Leg Atlas Desk has a split personality—the flowing lines of the reclaimed chamcha wood that make up the top and side are rough-and-ready while the thin figures that form its leg are sleek and playful.
- The Origins High Back Dining Chair is created by a Thai artisan and finished in Gray Stone. It is handcrafted from upcycled chamcha wood; there is butterflied detailing throughout the back of the chair. Each piece is one of a kind and will have beautiful imperfections unique to itself.
- Mixing the raw feel of wood and the sleek feel of metal is the Framed Arc Natural Console. The wood console table is a piece that rescues reclaimed chamcha wood from being one of nature’s finest castaways into an elemental design statement.
- There is something mesmerizing about the power of water and how it softens rock into a water-worn stone. The River Stone Large Charcoal Stone Coffee Table is made of composite in a warm charcoal stone finish with a flat top which is highly functional.
|
|
- Each Handcarved Giant Octopus is one-of-a-kind, carved according to size and shape of the wood. Jempinis wood is a beautiful hard wood with amazing subtle dark streaks running through it and has a really dense and crisp texture. It is a rapidly growing tree and abundantly found in South East Asia.
- Inspired by the ancient street markets and merchants, the Silver Wire Basket is hand bent, twisted and hand welt in at random points to create desired shape and size

|
- The pointed studs on the Spike Vase give this contemporary piece a hint of edge and texture. Its top-heavy design and slender base create an alluring silhouette without amplifying the weight of its dense ceramic structure.
- An elegant upgrade to a relaxed island vibe, the Island Leaf Object makes the perfect accent to any dining or coffee table. The scale of this object allows this piece to be a stand alone stunner or and addition to a beautiful collection.
-
Indigo Cosmos Glass Spheres come in four finishes to fit many different room styles. Each ball has a mesmerizing, one of a kind finish that will vary from piece to piece. This gives every orb an ethereal, magical feeling.
- Set the tone with this Large Oval Mirror. Mother of pearl is the iridescent substance that forms the lining of the shells found in both fresh water and salt water mollusks. Because this is a natural occurring substance and the cut pieces are put on individually by hand, no two items will be alike.

- The perforated patterns on the curved and dimpled base of the Lunar Table Lamp reflect Jamie’s interpretation of the craters, mountains, and seas of the lunar landscape. While the design’s celestial inspirations are subtle, the look is not!
- This oh so alluring Lanai Pendant has been beautifully artisan crafted of natural rattan and accented with two colors of beads, black and natural. These unique materials combine to create an exotic, tropically inspired look that can bring a breath of fresh air into any stale décor.
- A neutral blonde wood adds warmth and texture into any space. Its carved body and circular base with bevel gives the Revolution Floor Lamp an architectural appeal that will modernize any casual interior.
- The Leopold Framed Rectangle Sconce is a collage of natural agate stone is joined together with clear resin and antique brass. This natural sculpture creates different colors and patterns within each piece, making it a truly one-of-a-kind piece in your home and on your wall.

|
- An ocean of small shells is painstakingly applied to the Paula chandelier’s graceful beauty. Five lights are supported by exquisitely curved arms which terminate in small flourishes. A shell ball drop finishes the piece.
- Over 100 shell bead drops are finished with two types of circular disks: luminous, reflective mother of pearl and translucent capiz. Henry is dramatic and beautiful.
- Thick strands of seagrass are loosely woven into the drum shape of the Nina chandelier. Exposed knotting details make the piece exceptional. Finished with an optional linen drop shade.
- Made Goods has taken Grecian draping to the dream realm with the overlapping lace-like strands of the Terza. The swooping garlands of white cut clamshells hang and taper from a simple silver ring, creating a gorgeous pattern that turns casual materials into an elegant chandelier.

RUG SPOTLIGHT
TASTEFULLY TROPICAL
|
|
Area rugs can highlight your room with beautiful color.
1
Find your rug first. This will help you pull the room together so all your furniture will be much easier to match color.
2
Find the correct size. This can be done by using one or two king sheets laid out so you can see just how big or smaller the rug needs to be.
3
Know what the rug is made of. This will save you a lot of time if you need to clean it. Different fibers don’t always clean like wool will.
4
Tropical rugs will have beautiful palm fronds and flowers to bring in that costal tropical feeling.
5
Remember your costal/tropical room should bring you enjoyment each day.
