As a school district public library, the Ossining Public Library follows the same health and safety directives as the Ossining Union Free School District. This week, the New York State Department of Health issued the following: Effective immediately, in accordance with the Commissioner's Determination issued pursuant to 10 NYCRR 2.60, any person over the age of 2 (including all students, personnel, teachers, administrators, contractors, and visitors) must wear masks at all times indoors in P-12 school buildings, regardless of vaccination status.

In light of this statement, and the school district's mask mandates, the Library will be instituting new masking requirements. Beginning Thursday, September 2, all staff members and patrons over the age of two will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth, regardless of vaccination status. Masks for patrons who need them will be available at all of our service desks.
