Dear Friends,

Last night the Maryland Legislative Redistricting Advisory Commission (LRAC) released a map of the newly re-drawn lines for the State Legislative Districts. Tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday December 22) at 4:00 p.m. the LRAC will hold a virtual hearing presenting the re-drawn lines of the new state districts. With the newly re-drawn lines, District 23A, the district I represent, will no longer remain a single member sub-district. District 23 will become a three member district with no sub-districts for A and B.

Please feel free to contact me with your thoughts once you view the proposed map which will be taken up in the 2022 Legislative Session.

Wishing you peace and wellness this holiday season and as always it is my great pleasure to represent you!

Sincerely,
Geraldine

LRAC Virtual Redistricting Hearing
December 22 at 4:00 p.m.
The LRAC released a proposed legislative redistricting plan last night. A clear map of the new districts can be found here

To view the public hearing you can visit the Maryland General Assembly webpage and scroll down to the Legislative Redistricting Advisory Commission Hearing on the calendar which posts public hearings on the MGA You Tube channel. This hearing will air at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

The map envisions several key changes to the current boundaries, including changes to District 23A. A few points of interest include the following:

  • Prince George’s County’s District 23, will become a three member district rather than being split into two sub-districts of District 23A and District 23B.

  • I currently represent one of the sub-districts, District 23A, which will now be part of three member District 23.
