There is a saying: Rome wasn't built in a day. It means that it takes a long time to do a job or task properly, and you should not rush it or expect to do it quickly.

Our faith is the same. It is like running a marathon. The author of Hebrews knows this very well. He tells us through the book of Hebrews: "Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us." (Hebrews 12:1)

Our ancestors of faith also completed this marathon. There are heroes of faith such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, Samson, and David. In addition, there are women of faith such as Sarah, Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and Mary.

The ancestors have now passed on the baton of faith to us. However, sometimes our faith is shaken, and we are gripped by the fear that we will not finish this race. For us, the author of Hebrews encourages us to find the source of strength and motivation to complete this race of faith from Jesus Christ.

"Looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)

Not only this. Next to us, there are the body of Christ, the church, and the congregation. I pray that, as we all look to Jesus Christ as our Savior and Healer, and pray for one another, we will finish this race.

May the unfailing love of our God be with us all the time.
