Dedication to Inclusion Shines Bright in Huntsville

Our team at Community Living Huntsville has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.

We are thankful that you attended our sold-out Festive Brunch presented by Tall Trees Muskoka. The event raised more than $40,000 toward our affordable housing initiatives for people and families who access our services.

We are thankful that you helped share the joys of the season by supporting all 43 children and their families who will benefit from our annual Sponsor-a-Family Holiday Drive.

We are thankful that you purchased a pile of pies through Cooking for Charity’s sold-out French-Canadian Tourtiere Fundraiser in support of Community Living Huntsville.

We are thankful for our community partners, the Downtown Huntsville BIA and Minds Alive Toy Store Huntsville, who are helping us host our annual Sensitive Santa event for children with sensory needs.

And that is in December alone.

Throughout the year, we have been overwhelmed with gratitude for your generosity and commitment to accessibility and real community inclusion for people with developmental disabilities and their families in North Muskoka.

You attended our events, you donated to the cause, you got involved, you raised your voice, and you strengthened relationships. Your dedication to inclusion shines bright.

With your support, we have empowered people and families to find and keep roofs over their heads, advocated alongside community members for dignified and fair access to food, witnessed progress on downtown ramps and accessible parking at community events, championed inclusive education, promoted inclusive employment for workers with disabilities, celebrated a community where people with and without disabilities belong together, and more.

Now it is time for cheer! We invite you to join us for our Community Jingle and Mingle in Downtown Huntsville’s Kent Park on December 12. Drop by for hot chocolate, apple cider, cookies, and community spirit.

Thank you for helping us grow a more inclusive community.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Jerrett

Everyone Deserves a Place to Call Home

Every day we support a rising number of people with developmental disabilities and families who access our services to find and keep roofs over their heads.

Our community needs solutions and we have stepped up. But these innovative actions often go beyond our government-funded supports and services.
