To continue this conversation and look deeper at the SS United States' place in the larger post-World War II travel boom and the broader cultural conversation, the Conservancy has assembled an exciting expert panel discussion that will be held at 6:00pm (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

Opulent Crossings: Post War Tourism, Advertising, and Design will feature a fascinating discussion among curator Daniel Finamore and historians Raissa Bretaña and Richard K. Popp, who will reflect on our inaugural digital exhibition in the context of their own research. From fashion history to the post-war tourism boom and more, the conversation will surely leave attendees intrigued and inspired.
