This year's Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholar cohort is composed of 60 Scholars from across the nation, including ARC’s very own Warda Ali! Warda is the current Student Senate President and will be transferring to a university this fall.

The aim of this scholarship is for recipients to complete their undergraduate educations with as little debt as possible. The award, which is last dollar funding after all institutional aid, can provide as much as $55,000 per year toward tuition, living expenses, books, and required fees. Additionally, Cooke Scholars are welcomed into the thriving Cooke community and network, receive comprehensive educational and career advising, and are eligible for internship and graduate school funding from the Foundation.

Scientific Research Grant Awarded to ARC and Collaborators!

ARC Professor Dr. Daniel Stewart recently shared the exciting news that American River College is now in official collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to conduct research and conservation efforts of the Pacific Sleeper Shark. The team’s joint research proposal has been awarded NPRB funding and is set to officially commence this Fall!

“I look forward to working with our talented students to make significant contributions to the scientific community with this project. This achievement would not have been possible without the many contributions from the team involved in this project, as well as the support of the college administration. I am eager to share updates and progress throughout the research process and beyond. Thank you for your continued support of and for championing the importance of scientific research at the community college level.” - Dr. Daniel Stewart
