☢️What’s Hiding in Your Home?

Radon Season has arrived🏠

As we close up our homes for the fall season, now is the perfect time to test for radon; the leading cause of lung cancer in Canada after smoking. Radon gas is in every home, but our tests have shown that 1 in 4 homes in New Brunswick have unsafe levels. The only way to know is to test – and the best time to test is now! You can purchase a radon test kit on our website, or visit your local library to check out one of our lending kits for a short-term reading.

We are happy to announce that NB Lung’s expansive radon data set has recently contributed to a Cross Canada Radon Report coming out later this month. The last Cross Canada Radon study took place in 2012, where data in New Brunswick was under-reported. Thanks to our community testing drives, our Radon Lending Program, and tests sold by NB Lung, the public will soon have access to the latest data about radon levels in Canadian homes, with more accurate data in our region. Stay tuned to our social media and our website for the launch of the Cross Canada Radon study later this month.
