Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.

Guide me in Your truth, and teach me, for You are God my Savior,

and my hope is in You all day long.

PARISH FESTIVAL - Join us on Sunday, September 18th for our parish festival. The day begins with Mass at 10:00 AM. Food, fellowship, and fun following Mass.

LUNCH STATEMENTS - These are in the Friday Folders. Please check the balance at the top of the statement. If there is a negative sign in front of the number, please send payment (cash or check) to school in the JI Lunch envelope. There is no option to pay online for lunch. If it doesn't have a negative sign, you have a positive balance and you are receiving the statement so you can see where your account it is at and there is no need to send a payment to school.  Statements will be sent home once or twice a month.

MENTORS - John Ireland Parent Advisory Members (JIPAC) are your experts and go to people! Their names and email addresses are always at the bottom of the newsletters. At this time we are seeking new members to the committee. If you are interested in learning more about the committee, please contact one of the current JIPAC members.

Our lunch program will go back to a paid program. This means you will be billed for lunches. The cost of a student lunch for K-5 will remain the same at $2.90 which includes lunch and milk. The cost of a student lunch for grades 6-7-8 will be $3.00 which includes lunch and milk. If a student would like just a milk or an additional milk the cost remains the same at $0.35 per carton.

Greetings!

I’m proud to share that Saint Peter Public Library has been selected to host Thinking Money for Kids, a traveling exhibition created by the American Library Association (ALA) in partnership with the FINRA Investor Education Foundation.

Thinking Money for Kids is a new multimedia experience for children ages 7 to 11, as well as their parents, caregivers, and educators. The interactive exhibit uses games, activities and a fun storyline to help children understand what money is, its function in society, money choices, and money values, such as fairness, responsibility, and charitableness.

St. Peter was chosen to host the exhibition through a competitive application process; we are one of just 50 sites nationwide that will host the exhibit. (Nearly 130 public libraries applied.)

As part of the award, we received an allowance to host a series of public programs. These will include:

  • Thinking Money for Kids Opening Night: Experience the exhibit in this opening night event with Storytime (6pm), snacks and more! Mon., Nov. 7, 5-7pm
  • Open Hours to experience the exhibit while the library is open: November 7 – December 10
  • Special money-themed Storytime, hosted by area financial institutions
  • Youth Flea Market: Kids 7-12 and Teens 13-18, Sat., Nov. 5, 9-12 p.m. SPCC Lobby

For a peak at what the display will look like, please see the picture attached, or check out this interactive piece that is part of the display.

I would love to discuss ways you might partner with us to experience this exhibit. Please email or call me to discuss options.

Many thanks for your ongoing commitment to our community!

Sincerely,

Brenda McHugh
