Weekly Director Letter 08/13/2021
Dear Parents,
This letter is being sent to all future students as it has some back to school info in it!

Although we still have 3 1/2 days next week of summer camp, since it will be a short week, this will be the last weekly letter from myself and the classes. It is hard to believe that summer has come and gone so quickly. As we conclude a summer of fun and learning we are gearing up for a wonderful school year.

We are excited about our back to school orientation. If your child is in camp now and you did not pick up your informational letter, please grab it on Monday. For our future students, I dropped your letters in the mail today so hopefully, you will have them in a few days. Please save the date of Saturday August 21st. If you don't want to wait for the letter and wish to know your child's class and orientation time, just give us a call. Please read the letters carefully so that you arrive at the right time and follow safety guidelines.

We had expected to have all our uniforms by today, but the company who is making them has had COVID in their family. We have on-site all sizes except XS which is size 4. We hope to have those as well as the school bags on Monday. The blankets, pillows, and pillowcases are here. If the bags arrive by Monday, we will start inviting parents to get their school bag, pillow, and blanket as well as uniforms all next week.

Families who are new to the school give us a call and verify everything is here or send a message in Brightwheel and please stop by any day next week (except 10-12 on Friday as staff will be in a training) to get your things.

A word about COVID....I realize that speaking to people about vaccinations and masks is a hot topic. I know that vaccinated people are not REQUIRED to wear masks. I am begging however that ALL adults who approach our school to pick up and drop off, PLEASE WEAR A MASK. I will keep a box of disposable masks for adults available as you walk up if you forget yours.

Even vaccinated people can get COVID. A perfect example is a family from our school. The parent is vaccinated and still through service as a first responder did get COVID. When the child of the parent also tested positive for COVID, all of the students in the class had to be called and will need to be tested or stay out of school for 7 days.

Likewise, if someone in your house has COVID or you or your child has been exposed to someone with COVID, I ask that you PLEASE keep your child at home to limit the risk of exposure to the rest of the class and teachers. With your help, we can limit having to close classes during this pandemic.

We are excited to announce our FREE mask program. Now not only do our little ones get FREE diapers and wipes, our kids ages 3 1/2 and up (Rainbow class and above) will get free masks and a mask holder. Here is how it will work. At the orientation (or the first day of school if you miss it) each child will get a bag with 15 masks. Every three weeks, they will continue to get bags of 15 masks. This will help families to have a new clean mask each and every day. Additionally, studies are showing that trifold disposable masks are doing a better job than cloth masks at this point in the pandemic. That said, those kids who want to continue using their fabric mask, please consider taking advantage of the free disposable masks.

We look forward to a smooth end to summer camp and a wonderful 2021 school year starting on August 23rd!

Wishing you all well and stay safe,
Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed.S, NBCT
