Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI) is accepting applications for grants proposing to carry out financial and technical assistance programs in Persistent Poverty Counties. These grants will be made to qualified intermediary organizations that will provide financial and technical assistance to recipients to develop their capacity and ability to undertake projects related to housing, community facilities, or community and economic development that will support the community. The recipients will, in turn, provide programs that will support their communities (beneficiaries).
The Agency encourages applicants to consider projects that will advance the following key priorities:
- Reducing climate pollution and increasing resilience to the impacts of climate change through economic support to rural communities
- Ensuring all rural residents have equitable access to RD programs and benefits from RD funded projects; and
- Assisting rural communities recover economically through more and better market opportunities and through improved infrastructure.
