What is a One Water Plan?

The One Water approach integrates water resource planning with a comprehensive look at non-potable water options such as captured stormwater and recycled water to supplement and preserve the potable water supply.

The One Water Plan will leverage previous efforts to evaluate alternative water supplies to make the City’s water supply more resilient. Palo Alto is assessing key regional uncertainties and water supply risks such as projected shortages under multi-year droughts.
