Item Newsletter, Issue #2, September 5, 2022

The PTO is in full swing and there is a lot happening at Hubbard Woods School!

  • With your support, the PTO donated a beautiful landscape renovation at the corner of Burr and Chatfield. This area is often used for staff meetings, one-on-one student learning and more.
  • The PTO made great enhancements to our Butterfly Garden along the playground so that we can keep the monarch butterflies coming back year after year!
  • Composting roll-out! Did you know that Hubbard Woods School is being used as a trial school with the Village's new composting program? Our PTO volunteers have been assisting the students in composting during their lunch period. You, too, as a resident, can use the blue compost bin on the SE side of school for all of your compostable items. For more information and a list of compostable items, visit here.
  • We had our first Spirit Day and Pizza Fun Lunch on Friday! Over 200 students enjoyed Dominos pizza served by our PTO volunteers. You can still buy Spiritwear and Pizza Fun Lunches at any time!
  • Parent and Staff Party plans are in the works so, book your babysitters now for Friday, October 7!

Be sure to mark your calendars for all of our upcoming events listed below and feel free to reach out for ways to get involved!

School Directory Information

Wondering about how you can get contact info for your child's classroom families or D36 families? There is one D36 online directory for all District 36 schools.

Your access will be available in mid to late September -- watch for updates and instructions! Until the new directory is updated, last year's information will be in Directory Spot.

Due to parent privacy rules, the PTO (including room parents) cannot share class lists or parent information prior to the directory being made available.
