PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY, OUR GOVERNMENT, AND OUR BUSINESSES
Meet Jerome Taylor, President & CEO of Digital Forensic Services, LLC in Greenbelt, MD. As a retired US military veteran and Prince George’s County native, Jerome has been helping Prince Georgians by keeping our IT and cyber systems safe since Digital Forensic Services opened in 2014.
Digital Forensic Services offers area businesses all forms of IT support, however their true forte is in Cyber Security especially as it applies to government agencies and contractors. They have worked with numerous federal agencies such as The National Security Agency (NSA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and even the United States Navy. All of which helped Digital Forensic Services win numerous business awards including the 2021 INC 5000 Fastest Growing Companies, which they have won for three consecutive years.
Fortunately for Digital Forensic Services the COVID-19 pandemic had a very minimal effect on their business, primarily because most of their customers are governmental employees who were able to work from home during the temporary shutdown. However, despite the coronavirus shutting down most of the County, Digital Forensic Services was still able to help the community, especially high school students by helping them get their IT certifications. In addition, Digital Forensic Services provided job training and job placement services for IT students.
When asked what is next for Digital Forensic Services, Mr. Taylor stated that they are looking to open a “cyber lab” in the County hoping to cultivate more “home-grown” talent and keep them working in Prince George’s County. According to Jerome, “this cyber lab will mainly focus on helping local businesses and government agencies conduct network intrusions [cybercrimes] investigations”
