Sunapee Happenings

“Raindrops keep falling on my plants.”

Writing this missive on an unseasonably cold and rainy morning, it a sobering reminder that summer days are numbered and we’ll soon 'turn the corner’ to Fall.  Surely there will be more sunny blue skies, and lake swims, fair sailing winds, and picnics as we move on to the sublime pleasures of September in the greater Sunapee region before Mother Nature paints the forest red and gold.

Lorrie Morgan @ Lebanon Opera House

Loretta Lynn Morgan was born to make music.

Barely a teenager when she made her first impression on country music fans, Lorrie became one of the youngest performers to have made their debut at the Grand Ole Opry—alongside her father, the late country singer George Morgan.

Today, the Grammy-nominated singer is a modern woman making country music history. She continues to walk the path established by female country music trailblazers such as Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Tammy Wynette.  Learn More

Volunteer

“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”

                               Kahil Gibran,

Lebanese-American poet, writer, artist.

Note: Local nonprofits offer a myriad of opportunities to match your skills, interests and passions to give back to the communities we live in and want to see prosper. Volunteering is a great pathway to friendships for both new residents and recently retired to meet other townsfolk with similar interests.

Cute Critter (and very clever)
