Hello Families,

After completing my first week as Interim Principal, I continue to be grateful for our community and the staff that are here each day serving your students.   I see the devotion that our staff has to your child's education, helping them to reach and display their full brilliance, and encouraging them to discover both their identity as an individual, and as a member of the SLPMS student community.  I love seeing students interacting and socializing with each other again, participating and engaging in fall sports, and have enjoyed seeing some of our brand new spaces start to be fully utilized.  I am also thankful for the extreme generosity of our families as our Site Council fundraising goal of $9,000 was easily eclipsed, with over $12,000 being given to our school.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to us meeting and surpassing our goal!

I wish each of you a great weekend as we head into October.  Continue to let us know if we can do anything further to assist your student in reaching their full potential and brilliance.

Sincerely,

Jason Boll
Interim Principal

COVID Testing Update
BinaxNOW Test Kits Not Available for SLP MS & HS Students

These COVID-19 community testing sites across Minnesota offer free tests to all

St. Louis Park Public Schools informed Middle School and High School students and families on September 30, 2021 that the BinaxNOW test kits are not currently available for students in grades 6-12. Test availability for Middle School and High School students was incorrectly reported in the September 29, 2021 issue of the SLP Communicator; the District apologized for the error.

Based on information from the Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Education, the BinaxNOW test kits are scheduled to arrive for Middle School and High School students in November. Instructions for students and families to access the test kits will be shared upon their arrival.

If a student develops COVID symptoms, they should be tested. Local testing opportunities available to students and families now are listed below:

Students, parents/guardians, and families can also use the COVID-19 test at home program to have a test mailed to them.
