Staff in the Spotlight

Howie Drolet, Assistant Principal

Hello students, parents and Northwood community members. My name is Howie Drolet and I am thrilled to be the new assistant principal here at Northwood School. This is my 23rd year in education, for 17 years I taught 7th grade social studies and for the last 5 years I was the Extended Learning Opportunities Coordinator at Nute High School. When not in school, I can usually be found coaching my own 4th grader in hockey, soccer or baseball. I feel so fortunate to be here at Northwood, the kids and staff here are amazing and I look forward to making a positive connection with each and every one of our students.

Learning Loss Survey

The U.S. Department of Education awarded ESSER III funds to New Hampshire school districts to respond to the pandemic and address student learning loss as a result of COVID-19. Feedback from all district stakeholders is imperative in the creation of a district-wide plan that will target our needs.

We invite you to fill out this short survey if you haven't already done so to provide suggestions on how the funds should be used.   You may also have your student(s) complete the survey to share their input.

The survey will close on Wednesday, September 21.

We will be holding Open House on Tuesday, September 20, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Grades K-4 will visit classrooms from 5:00 to 6:00 and then are invited to come to the softball field for a cookout. Grades 5-8 will enjoy the cookout between 5:00 - 6:00 and then will visit classrooms between 6:00 and 7:00

For the cookout, will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, and chips. Please bring your own water bottle!

Kindergarten News

The kindergarteners have discovered that things look differently through a magnifying glass! We checked out our skin, items in the classroom and out on the playground. There is a lot you can learn and see if you look closely…science is so much fun!
