Possip is coming to Lycée!

URGENT: New Host Needed for an LFNO Amity Intern
We are urgently in need of an alternative host family for one of our Amity interns. The new host family will begin hosting after Fall break (Oct. 11 - 15th), starting the weekend of October 16th/17th if possible. The intern will need to host until the end of this semester (December), and preferably through the end of the school year until their departure in May/June 2022.

Student Activities:
Please keep an eye out for McNair student clubs and activities that will be kicking off soon! 
  • Student Initiative Committee: will hold its first meeting of the year later this week
  • Student Council: application packets will be available via homeroom Google Classroom after fall break
  • Fall Fete: we are in the planning stages of a campus-wide fall celebration at the end of October
  • National Honor Society: the high school honor society will be rolling out inductions in December
 
Additional clubs and activities will be formed on a rolling basis as resources are available. Clubs and activities will take place during lunch and will follow the relevant and current Covid safety protocols throughout the year. 
 

8th-11th Grade Class Novel Orders 2021-2022
This year we have streamlined the novel reimbursement process for grade-level book sets. Please open *this document* and click on your student's grade level to complete payment. Contact your child's ELA teacher if you have questions or concerns.

HEALTH UPDATES
Updated Health Information Form:
If your student has a food allergy, please fill out the Diet Prescription Plan signed by a physician if your student will be receiving any meals at school. If he/she does not receive meal service at school on a regular basis, it is still recommended to have this form on file at school. 

The diet Prescription form can be found on the LFNO website under the PARENTS tab or click here. Send the completed form or address any questions or concerns in separate emails to your student’s campus nurse.

Updated Covid 19 Quarantine Policy for McNair Campus (change highlighted)
 
If/when a Covid 19 positive person on the McNair campus is identified, all close contacts will be notified by the school. Close contacts will follow the LDH and Children's Hospital guidance which includes Covid 19 testing as soon as possible. 
 
Vaccinated students may return to school immediately, while self-monitoring for symptoms and testing again 5-7 days after exposure to a positive case. 
 
Unvaccinated students must immediately begin the 14 day quarantine and must also do the testing 5-7 days after exposure to a positive case. During the quarantine, students will complete asynchronous school work via Google Drive but there will not be any synchronous virtual instruction.

Extended Day Programs
Over the summer, we determined that we would be joining the Crescent City Charter League for flag football and volleyball. CCCL is running a vaccinated league for all sports. We received communication late last week that their season will be pushed back to February. Please find that communication [attached- please see pdf attached to email]
