Annual Recognition Gala
Please join us for an evening of Scouting at its finest at the Heart of Virginia Council's Annual Recognition Gala, where we will honor five highly deserving Scouters by inducting them into the 2020 Class of Silver Beavers. Our special event takes place on Thursday, August 26th, starting with a dinner reception at 6:30 PM. Registration closes this Sunday, August 22nd. [Register]
Part-Time ScoutReach Program Aid
We have a brand new job opening available! ScoutReach Program Aids help deliver a quality Scouting program for underserved youth in our community. They also assist with leading volunteers to help grow the program and instill Scouting values in the lives of youth. [Learn More]
Wood Badge 2021
It’s not too late to participate in Wood Badge on September 10-12 and 25-26, 2021 at Cub and Webelos Adventure Camp! We are looking for leaders who are fully trained for their current position in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, Venturing, and Exploring at all career stages for a Mountaintop experience that will have a major, positive impact on them and all they interact with inside and outside of Scouting. Range Master Training
Shooting Sports are one of the most popular activities at any Cub Scout event. A Cub event that includes shooting sports is considered a Council event, and the ranges must be operated according to national standards. HOVC is holding a Range Master Class on October 3rd at 1:00 PM. This event is free of charge. Please bring a water bottle! [Register]
PINTwood Derby Update
Come race Pinewood Derby Cars and socialize at an event benefiting the Heart of Virginia Council, BSA. This adults-only event is presented by Midas of Richmond and hosted by Hardywood Brewery. No experience, no problem! We have pre-cut cars available, are excited to host a "Make Your Car Workshop" at the Leadership Center on August 28th, and will have a selection of pre-made cars available on race day.
