Each Friday afternoon through the end of October the Farmstand at the Chicago Lights Urban Farm is selling a wide variety of seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

Your purchasing fresh produce at the Farmstand directly supports Chicago Lights job-training programs, as students and young adults gain job skills through urban farming, skills that set them up for success as they pursue fulfilling careers.

Two Fourth Church committees are recruiting new committee members to join them in their work this fall.

The Property Committee is looking for individuals with experience in architecture, property management, HVAC, or security. In addition to participating in monthly meetings, these committee members also engage in subcommittee work throughout the month, which can include meeting with staff members and vendors, preparing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and making recommendations.

To express interest in becoming a part of the Property Committee, please contact Andrea Denney.

The Adult Education Committee is looking for individuals who are interested in, among other things, reviewing course proposals; working with course developers and leaders to shape the direction and scope of courses; and hosting classes on Sunday mornings and book discussions on the first Tuesday of the month.

To express interest in becoming a part of the Adult Education Committee, please contact Lucy Forster-Smith.

The Nominating Committee is also in need of recommendations for candidates for positions opening in 2023 for Elder, Deacon, Trustee, and Nominating Committee as well as the Chicago Lights Board.

Please take a moment to think of Fourth Church members who have demonstrated gifts for leadership and a commitment to the life and ministry of this congregation.

Then add their names—self-nominations are welcome!—to the Leadership Candidate Form online at www.bit.ly/nominating2023
