It's a Beautiful Day in Our Neighborhood!
Dear Parents:

Your Trivium administrative staff is currently on vacation (but still doing trainings!) until July 26, but I wanted to provide some updates about the 2021-22 school year.

Our furniture and supplies are back in our original building, and we are ready for a great new school year. We have boxes everywhere while our teachers vacation, but soon it will be buzzing with excitement. The gym floor is still not finished, but it will be beautiful when completed. Our Knights will be glad to get back on their home turf. We feel good being back in our familiar neighborhood and are anxious to welcome our Knights home in August.

We are celebrating our STAAR scores, which were very good considering the rocky year we had with the pandemic, move to a new building, and remote learning. Our students scored well above the state average, and we are delighted to see they did not lose much ground in the events that rocked our school year. The EOC scores for our high school students were particularly strong. Official results to share should be out in August. We are so proud of our students and staff!

The new year is promising in every way, and we are excited to introduce new additions to our staff. Once the move-in is complete we will be back to normal for the first time in what seems like forever.

Next year, we will all start school at the same time and end at the same time. School will begin at 8 a.m. and be over at 3:30 p.m. The doors to the building will be open at 7:40. We do realize that carpool will have a new set of challenges, but as always, we will work out the kinks. We will send out an updated carpool map at the beginning of August. Hopefully, the times will make things easier for parents who have students in more than one grade.

We are continuing the bring-your-lunch to school program. Elementary students will eat in their lunch rooms, and secondary students will eat in the cafeteria. We will be asking for parent volunteers to help with elementary, so be prepared for a parent meeting once we are back. We are also planning to incorporate an off-campus lunch time for our juniors at least once a week.
We look forward to this new year and having our Knights back in our neighborhood of learners!

Proud to be a Knight,
Marsha Cawthon
Principal

Join the Trivium Bloomz Community
At Trivium our primary communication platform for both classrooms and our school community is Bloomz.

Every year we re-set the membership of the community.

To join (or re-join) the Trivium community and gain access to important school communication you will need this code: XDQHDC.

Teachers will provide access codes to their specific classes at Meet the Teacher night!

Instructions for accessing Bloomz can be found in the graphic to the right.

When You Wonder, You're Learning
We're so excited to announce that our book study for this school year is "When You Wonder, You're Learning."

This book is based on the lessons from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood and his "tools for learning." The tools: curiosity, creativity, communication, working together, learning and growing, and connection enhance students' learning, emotional health, and confidence. These lessons benefit children from all backgrounds and ages.

We can't wait to read this book as a staff at Professional Development, but we also strongly encourage our parents to read this book as well!

If you'd like to sponsor a teacher or staff member by providing them with a hard copy of this book, click the link below. It's certainly an investment that will pay off for our children! Amazon Wish List: When You Wonder, You're Learning
Kindergarten Screener

Our kinder team will be conducting a kindergarten screener on our newest Knights on July 29 & 30th.

We started a Kindergarten Bloomz page that all kinder families need to join in order to stay in the loop on school communication.

A sign up and more information will be communicated on this Bloomz page.

The join code is N68H2G and instructions for joining Bloomz are on the left.

We're looking forward to seeing students (and parents) back on campus soon!
After School Programs
We are excited to welcome back our after school fee based programs! We will have more information about and sign up opportunities for the programs offered at Meet the Teacher. All these programs will begin after Labor Day.

We are also bringing back our teacher sponsored clubs! We always give our teachers some time to get the year going before starting their clubs, so club information will come out in September.

We are not offering on-site after care, however we do have some quality after school programs that pick up at our facility.

PIE & Volunteer Background Check
One of the things we're most excited about is having our parents back on campus this school year! Get a jump start on being an approved volunteer by filling in the background check form today: Background Check Link

PIE (Partners in Education) is our parent volunteer group, and we're gearing up to get all of our committees up and running. Joining a PIE committee is a great way to get involved at Trivium and meet other families. The committees are listed below and more information about signing up for committees will be available at Meet the Teacher and curriculum nights (see above for dates!).

  • Hospitality: This committee participates in welcoming new families, coordinating teacher and staff wish lists, Teacher Appreciation Week, and First Day of School.

  • Events: This committee will organize Fall Festival, Career Day, Middle and High School party events.

  • Literacy: This committee works with the two book fairs each year and supports the Read Across America week during the school year. They will also organize a book fair for our middle and high school students from Barnes and Noble.

  • Fundraising: This committee raises money for the school. Typically, we organize the Silent Auction and raise money for field trips and other classroom needs.

  • Dad’s Group: This committee provides manual labor and help from the men of our school. Typically, this is the Watch Dog program.

  • Lunch Bunch: This committee will help deliver late drop off lunches to the classrooms, offer breaks for the teachers, and assist classrooms during lunch time.

  • Classroom Support: This committee will help with special projects in the classroom, copying, and other general help for our teaching staff. This group will also help with classroom and grade level parties.

New High School Advanced Courses
We are adding four new courses to our OnRamps offerings this year. Students in high school have the opportunity to take these dual enrollment classes through the University of Texas at Austin. Our pilot course last year, College Algebra, taught by Mrs. Ram resulted in all of the eligible students receiving three hours of college credit. These students all have a UT transcript now with credit that should transfer to their selected universities in a couple of years when they head off to college.

Our OnRamps teachers go through two weeks of intensive training to be able to offer these classes to our students. We are thankful for the following teachers and their dedication to Trivium and our students, and we are excited about these new classes!

OnRamps Rhetoric (6 credit hours) - Ms. Duke
OnRamps American History (6 credit hours) - Mrs. Parker
OnRamps Physics (4 credit hours) - Mr. Ball
OnRamps Pre-calculus (3 credit hours) - Mrs. Ram

We will also be adding two new Advanced Placement (AP) courses to our high school this year. In addition to AP Human Geography and AP World History, we will be offering AP Psychology and AP Art: Design.

It's exciting to continue to see our high school program grow. It won't be long now until we have our first graduating class in 2023!
School Uniforms
We require each student to have one short-sleeved navy polo with the embroidered crest. This polo and any embroidered or plaid pieces must be ordered from either Tommy Hilfiger or Lands' End. All of the other basic uniform pieces may be purchased anywhere you choose.

As you are shopping, please remember that we do not allow hoodies. You might want to purchase a sweater or jacket through one of the uniform vendors.
