Indian Missionaries with EFM, DK and Choity, shared about the work they are doing in Calcutta at Committee Night at Marion First Friends. They also spent time with the Missions Committee, strategizing how IYM can continue to support them as they train and equip others to carry the work forward. Committee News

From the Advancement Committee:

Friends, you are pretty incredible. You have given $83,853.68 with another $8,750 in pledges, for a total of $92,603.68 toward our goal of $125,000 for the 2024 IYM budget. Thank you for responding to Pat's recent letter of information and encouragement. Thank you for participating in IYM Sunday. Thank you for walking along with us as we work to strengthen our IYM ministries, services, programs, and other endeavors. We will keep at it as we head into the summer months. Surpassing our goal significantly is our focus. There is much to be done and we do not want to slow our efforts in any way. Glory to God!

From the Christian Service Committee:

Our yearly meeting continues to be about serving others and loving them with the love of Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank you to our churches for impacting our communities in dynamic ways. Reinvigorating and strengthening our neighborhoods is so important. Helping folks know it is Jesus Christ our Lord who holds the answers for all our needs. In addition to our efforts, here is one example of significant support happening around the world and here in the United States:

Samaritan’s Purse is working in over 100 countries, providing disaster and emergency relief, medical equipment, healthcare, evangelism tools, gift-filled shoeboxes, education, and many other supplies to help transform communities in developing nations. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate volunteers for our international emergency responses, as we work with a large network of ministry partners who help coordinate our response activities on the ground.

However, we do have opportunities with our U.S. Disaster Relief program when local resources cannot meet the need. Our teams of volunteers provide debris removal, temporary house weatherproofing, cleanup of flooded homes, and other disaster aid.

Let's keep serving well!

A Message from our Superintendent

Good Morning,

A good amount of the programming we do together, through Indiana Yearly Meeting happens in the summer. Here we are, just a month or so from summer ‘officially’ being upon us, and I

want to take this opportunity to remind you of some really exciting opportunities for folks of all ages to take steps in knowing, loving, and following Jesus this summer:

Summer Camps: As you are probably aware, the summer camping programs at Quaker Haven

has something for everyone! From kindergarten-aged kids, who come to camp with a parent, to elementary- aged kids, to junior highers, to senior highers, to adults who serve as counselors, we hope everyone will come to camp. Check out the graphic in the Youth/Young Adult section of this piece to find the camp that works for you, and get registered!

Pastor Short Course: This is an event that I describe as ‘camp for pastors and their families’. It is

a time to hang out with family, with fellow ministers, and with friends, while getting much needed rest. It is also a time to get some instruction from other leaders that will help all

present to be equipped for ministry.

Kaleo Academy: Kaleo is a Friends-based leadership training for high school students, based out

of Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas. The summer program is called Theology Camp. After

students experience that piece, they are then encouraged and equipped to perform a Release Project that puts their training into action.

Kenya Youth Trip: IYM has been very connected to Friends ministry in Kenya, Africa, for decades. This summer, Eric Dale will lead a group of young people from Indiana in a training along-side Kenyan teens, and then both the Americans and the Kenyans will put that training into action by doing some outreach events in Turkana.

IYM Annual Sessions: From July 27-29, everyone in IYM is invited to Quaker Haven Camp for Annual Sessions. We will worship. We will conduct business. We will commemorate. We will receive reports. We will feast! Come and share with us as we do all of this and more!
