Apps to support recruiting efforts

  • Jibber Jobber: this app helps track when you've sent in your opportunities and offers helpful reminders to follow-up.
  • Boomerang: need to put your head down and focus for a bit? Use Boomerang to delay your emails until you're ready to view them.
  • Text to Speech functionality: this will be helpful if you're on the go but want to listen to cases on the way. Available for iPhone and Android
  • Interviewing.com: the app will allow you to practice interviewing wherever you are.
  • LinkedIn: want to connect with a new contact right away? Use LinkedIn's app to do so.
Apps to make life easier
There are a number of simple apps that make life easier:
  • Instacart: one student mentioned that given the cold winters, the amount of time and energy saved getting to/from the grocery store was worth it!
  • Seamless: need to order in? Seamless is a great way to get food delivered.
  • Venmo: going out to eat and need to split a bill? Venmo is an easy way to transfer funds.
  • Insight Timer: amidst everything going on, if you need to take a break, use this meditation app.
  • Google Keep: need to remember some important details? Use this app to keep notes.
  • IFTTT: If This Then That is an app that helps you automate processes. There are many custom templates to choose from!
  • Dropbox: keep files stored in one place and access them via desktop or mobile.
Apps to stay organized or get more done

In addition to the productivity tools that we shared in Week 17, here are some apps that were mentioned by students and alums as having had an impact on their experience as a student:
  • OmniFocus: this comprehensive app helps you organize all aspects of your day, from tracking big picture goals to day-to-day tasks.
  • Mint: it can help to track budgets & spending early.
  • Goals On Track: how many times have you created a spreadsheet to track your goals? Keep yourself focused with this app.
