August 20, 2021
Dear Parents of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

Our first full week of 2021-2022 is in the books! Thank you for your part in creating a successful start to this year. While I know there are conflicting views on the masks, I’m excited that the masks have permitted us to return to so many of our normal “pre-Covid” practices such as hosting our Early Childhood / Elementary Parent Information Night last night while so many of our neighboring schools have had to host such events virtually. We LOVE having our parents on campus. These evenings allow us to closely partner with you and share our goals and curriculum while giving you a glimpse into the daily lives of your students. Next Thursday, August 26th, we will host our Middle School Parent Information Night when our middle school parents get to walk their student’s schedule and get see the life of a middle school Dolphin. I want to thank you all for your hard work in getting back into the swing of the school year. Have a wonderful weekend!

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker
Principal

MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT INFO NIGHT
Thursday, August 26 | 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Join us for Middle School Parent Info night to experience a day in the life of your Middle School student!
FRIDAY, AUGUST 27TH - RAISE YOUR COLLEGE FLAG DAY!
In honor of raising the West Point flag (auction item from our 2021 Gala), students may wear any military branch shirt or camouflage with jeans. Thank you to the Barr family for supporting our school!
UPDATE TO VISITORS AT LUNCH POLICY
As we work to spread out students as much as possible, we are not able to accommodate guests at lunch. We hope to lift this restriction soon, but want to continue doing all that is within our power to keep our students safe. If you had planned to join your dolphin for a birthday lunch, you will be able to celebrate a belated birthday when this temporary restriction is lifted. Thank you for your understanding. Parents may still drop-off a special lunch for students to enjoy on their birthday.
2020-2021 YEARBOOK PICK-UP
If you ordered a yearbook last school year, they are available for pick-up at Middle School Parent Info Night or at the Front Desk during school hours. Please contact Mrs. Morgan for information.
ARRIVAL REMINDERS
  • If you are walking students in, please note that the rear gates close at 8 a.m. to keep our campus secure.
  • If you are arriving after 7:55 a.m. the front car line is the best place to drop off students.
WALKING INTO SCHOOL
Students in 1st through 8th grade should walk on their own to class starting Monday, August 23rd. We understand that the transition for Pre–K & Kindergarten is sometimes harder, so you may walk with your children until September 3rd. If your Pre–K & K student is able, please encourage them to walk to class on their own (or with older siblings) as soon as possible–our teachers and staff will happily assist them on their way.
DISMISSAL REMINDERS
  • CAR LINE: Please have your Car Line Number visible at all times. This helps our staff quickly navigate your students to their cars. Do not line up prior to 3:00 PM to keep our fire lanes clear.
  • PERSONAL PICK-UP: The back gates do not open before 3:15 PM. If you must line up prior to 3:15, please utilize the middle lane of the St. Theresa Center parking lot to line up and do not block the Food Pantry.
  • A late charge of $10 plus $1 per minute may be billed to parents when students are not picked up on time. In general, one warning is given before charges begin.
  • If you need a later time to pick up your students, please consider enrolling in Beyond the Bell.

VOLUNTEERING
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING (VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT)
Our school requires anyone wanting to participate in volunteer activities to complete Safe Environment Training. As a community of faith it is our moral responsibility to safeguard children, the most important gifts God entrusts to us. NOTE: All volunteers/parents must be current with safe environment training in order to participate in volunteer opportunities within our school.

Safe Environment Program - The CMG Safe Haven online training consists of 3 vignette style training videos that is approximately 60 minutes and will include a criminal background check that must be completed. These trainings are available in English and Spanish. Live trainings will no longer be offered, all Safe Environment training will only be available online. For more information about completing Safe Environment Training please visit: https://www.staopcs.org/safe-environment-training

  • In the mornings, volunteers will help with directing traffic and assisting students safely out of their cars. Volunteers will need to be present from 7:30AM - 8:05AM.
  • In the afternoon, volunteers will assist with lining up cars and directing traffic. Volunteers will need to be present from 2:45PM - 3:30PM.
  • All volunteers must be in compliance and complete Safe Environment Training. More info is available at: https://ap.school/safe-environment-training
If you are able to help once or twice a week, we are extremely grateful! Thank you for being a dedicated volunteer to our school.
