October is National Bullying Prevention Month. With that said, we would like to use this month to discuss the different forms of bullying. This week we're talking about Verbal Bullying.

Verbal Bullying

So, what is Verbal bullying? Bullying is when someone intimidates, harms, or exerts control over another person. Verbal bullying involves using verbal actions including name-calling, teasing, making threats, insults, and spreading rumors. Verbal bullying can have serious effects on a person’s mental and emotional well-being.

Report Verbal Bullying

If you or someone you know is experiencing verbal bullying, it’s important to seek help from trusted adults, such as teachers, parents, or counselors. They can provide support and take steps to address the situation. If you would like to remain anonymous, please submit make a report through the SCPS Speakout hotline using the blue link above.

Each October, National Principals Month recognizes the essential role that principals play in making a school great. Principals are among the hardest working, yet often least recognized individuals in education. SCPS would like to recognize and thank of all hardworking principals that impact our students and school!
