Youth Group & Camp Grier
Avondale's Youth Group goes to Camp Grier for their Fall Retreat. This year, our youth head to Old Fort, NC on Nov 12. Do you know about Camp Grier? Camp Grier is a non-profit, outdoor ministry program of the Presbyterian (PCUSA) church. Located on 650 acres of land bordering the Pisgah National Forest in Old Fort, NC, each summer their campus is filled with campers from all different backgrounds, histories, ethnicities and lifestyles.

CYPP Training
At Avondale, we are committed to a safe, healthy environment for children and youth, as well as those who work with them. All volunteers and staff of Avondale, working with children and youth, are required to complete the CYPP certification class. This certification requires renewal every three years. We have three dates and times coming early November!

Church Triumphant
With deep sadness, we share that Mr. Bob Rudisill joined the Church Triumphant. Bob, 90 years old, joined Avondale church in 1991. Details will be shared soon.

Marriage
Jeremy Thomas and Amie Eatmon were married on Oct 2, 2021 on the beach in Oak Island, NC. He is the son of Mahlon and Susan Thomas. Not only did they gain a new daughter-in-law, they gained four new granddaughters. Two sets of twins ages 12 and 21.

Welcome New Director
We are pleased and excited to welcome Dawn Peebles to the ACC! She began Monday, Sept 27. Dawn is originally from Virginia and has been in Charlotte since moving here following college. She has two teenage daughters, a senior at Ardrey Kell High School and a sophomore at UNC Charlotte. Read more about Dawn here.
