Dear ,

Happy Holidays! Winter is here and we are thrilled! Northeast Ohio has so many fun activities during the winter months for people of all ages to partake in. Cleveland has every event imaginable including concerts, outdoor ice skating, breakfast with Santa, skiing/snowboarding, and much more! There really is something for everyone to enjoy. Winter in Northeast Ohio is usually cold so wrap up in your fuzziest blanket and relax with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa. If you plan to go out, there may be snow and ice on the ground, so please take the weather into consideration while planning your holiday activities.

From all of us at Bay Corporation, we hope you have a safe and happy holiday season!

Winterfest CLE
Winterfest is Downtown Cleveland's annual holiday kickoff event. This year, it was held on November 27th and welcomed back guests in person. Attendees started out their day with fun winter activities including carriage rides, ice skating, food trucks, and appearances from Santa. The night concluded with a tree lighting ceremony and fireworks.
Winter Activities
The holiday season in Cleveland wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Christmas Story house. However, Cleveland has many other traditions to experience. Clevelanders can hit the slopes at Boston Mills and Brandywine. There is also tobogganing at the Strongsville Chalet, Kringle’s Inventionasium, and outdoor ice skating. Fans of the performing arts can visit the Cleveland Playhouse for the Festival of the Trees. While downtown, they can see holiday performances at Playhouse Square including The Nutcracker performed by the Cleveland Ballet and the annual showing of A Christmas Carol presented by Great Lakes Theatre.
Holiday Lights
Seeing holiday lights are one of the best ways to spend winter in Cleveland. There are displays all over the Cleveland area, and with that come plenty of options to choose from. Our favorite display is put up by North Ridgeville resident Bob Mangan. He starts decorating his property in October of each year and estimates that it takes about 300 hours to set up. Bob's display can be visited at 34907 Cambridge Drive.
North Pole Adventure
The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is debuting their all-new holiday train ride this winter. They will have plenty of food and activities while they make their way to the North Pole including hot cocoa, cookies, Christmas carols, and letter-writing to Santa. There may even be a visit from the man-in-red himself. The North Pole Adventure™ takes place November 5 through December 19, 2021.
This winter,
Bay Corporation challenges you to take the extra step to lessen your carbon footprint. This year try and do these tips.
  • Have a staycation. Explore your area instead of going away for the winter.
  • Say no to snowblowers. The average snowblower produces one pound of carbon monoxide emissions per hour!
  • Challenge yourself to keep your thermostat as low as possible.
  • Following the previous tip, layer up to stay warm inside.
  • Carpool or use public transportation.
  • Participate in Veganuary this new year.
Your Guide to Winter Health
Want to stay healthy and safe this winter? You should try implementing some of the following tips into your routine.
  1. Go outside to enjoy the fresh air. Don't forget to dress warm!
  2. Snow shovel at your own pace. Remember to take breaks!
  3. Remove clothing if it gets damp or wet. Wet clothing can make you more prone to hypothermia.
  4. Know the symptoms of hypothermia and frostbite.
  5. Prepare an emergency kit for the winter.
  6. Have a plan for where to go if your house loses heat.
