Registering for courses will be your first step in preparation for Fall 2023.
Below you will find helpful links and tutorials to navigate the process of selecting the correct coursework for your program and registering.
Course Registration

If you need to register for research units to get you to full time status of 12 units, please follow the instructions and steps below.
Registration for Research Units Instructions
1) Use this link to the right or go to registrar.ucmerced.edu/forms, and select the "Independent Study" form under the "Registration and Enrollment" category.
2) Sign in to your UC Merced account using Duo Factor authentication.
3) The following page will show up - fill in the information using the drop down lists. To select an instructor, begin typing the first and last name of the faculty member, then select their name from the pop-up window.
4) Submit the form with the filled-in information. You will receive a confirmation email that your request has been received (as shown below). Note: This is NOT an approval or denial of your request, only a confirmation that it has been received and is under review.
5) After your request has been either approved or declined, you will receive a secondary confirmation email (as shown below) to notify you of the decision.
6) Use the Course Reference Number (CRN) given to you through the secondary confirmation email to register. Go to your myRegistration page or use the button to the right to use the CRN to register for your research units.
