We Had a Great History Live Event Tuesday!
We had a lovely History Live event on Tuesday evening on the Smiley Building Lawn with Local Historian Patty Tharp and several of the families she interviewed for her research in writing her two "Lost Communities of the Navajo Dam" books. The families were able to share their experiences growing up in the communities that were ultimately flooded to become what is currently Lake Navajo. The weather was perfect and the stories were moving! A lovely evening to hear our area's history, as told by those who lived it. Patty's books were published by the San Juan County Historical Society and can be purchased at Maria's Bookshop.
