Offered here is a very nice example of an early Volkswagen Beetle. It is a two owner vehicle. The current owner purchased a cabin in Manistee, MI in 1980 and the Beetle came with it. It is believed that the odometer reading of 97,526 is correct, as the vehicle was only driven sparingly and in storage much of the time.
The car has a replacement engine of the correct displacement. In addition, the interior was just redone with new front and back seat covers, door trim panels and carpeting. A substantial number of service records come with the car.
It drives very well. The engine pulls strongly, the car shifts properly and the brakes operate as they should. Options include a metal factory sunroof and an upgraded radio. The original owner’s manual, service booklet and maintenance record booklet are included.
It is believed that the beige exterior is original paint. There is some rust bubbling in the quarter panels and a small amount of rust on the bumpers. In spite of those issues, the car is very presentable and runs extremely well.
