Back to School!

Please remember to slow down and watch for our littles going back to school! We have a lot of "walkers" in our community, even in our developments we have kids that you will see walking to their bus stops.

Stay off your phones and keep your eyes on the road - remember the stop sign on buses mean both directions of traffic have to come to a complete stop and wait till the drivers puts the sign away before proceeding.

Wishing everyone a safe and healthy school year!

Need a helping hand?

With having what seems to be a never ending summer, and increased utility costs, some people have been searching for additional assistance with their bills.

SENATE BILL 298 To Amend Title 26 Solar Power

Info for you!

In July 2022, Senate Bill 298, ACT TO AMEND TITLE 26 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO NETMETERING, was signed into law by Governor Carney. There are several main points to highlight concerning the amended law for consumers utilizing solar.

For existing customers with solar, the impact of this new amendment will be minimal. This amendment increases the total amount of solar the city can approve by 3% which gives the customers more opportunity to pursue renewable sources of energy. It also allows the city more flexibility in approvals/disapprovals based on any potential negative impact to the system due to the back flow of energy from the solar installation.

For more information and to read a letter with the bullet points included in the Senate Bill please click here.

PREPAREDNESS IS KEY!

We are in hurricane season so it is a good time to remind everyone to get your emergency supplies in order!

Be sure to check expiration dates on food, batteries and other supplies.

For an example of what supplies you should have you can click HERE.

As we saw with the tornado in August of 2020, clean up and restoration takes time. It is important for each of us to understand the value of the emergency supply kit and to make necessary plans.

Reminder!

Free, Family Fun on Thursday evenings!
