To commemorate PDF's 40th Anniversary in the peace and justice movement, we're thrilled to invite YOU to a series of events we are hosting this fall, a "Past, Present, and Future" look at PDF, including the PREMIERE of our 40th Anniversary Short Film!

Join us for this roundtable discussion on feminist peace-making with representatives from PDF's 2017-2019 Women Peacemakers Initiative. We are thrilled to be joined for this look back at a PDF success story by:

These organizations have all been a part of PDF's Fiscal Sponsorship Program and we are thrilled to be convening them again to talk strategies and visions for a more peaceful world.
You don't want to miss the premiere of PDF's 40th Anniversary Short Film! Come learn about PDF's history, hear directly from key stakeholders from over the years and see how PDF continues to build the capacity of grassroots organizations in peace, justice, climate, and human rights movements.

Directly following the premiere, PDF will host a cross-generational dialogue among key PDF figures and youth leaders from some of our recent grant partners, like Detroit Area Youth Uniting Michigan and the Youth Activism Project.

This November, join PDF for a Town Hall style event featuring Tiheba Bain of Women Against Mass Incarceration, Taylar Nuevelle of Who Speaks for Me?, and Morning Star Gali of Restoring Justice for Indigenous People.

These organizations will be in conversation with one another about the movement to end the growing incarceration of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ folks and their vision for a more just, equitable, and peaceful society.
PDF's Fall Newsletter is hot off the press!
PDF's 2021 Fall Newsletter celebrates our 40th Anniversary milestone and covers some of the many key moments in PDF's history, like the first grant cycle in 1981 to organizations like S.T.O.P. Nuclear War and the War Resisters League, or PDF's Listening Project in 1997 that surveyed the needs of grassroots organizations nationwide, or the Criminal Justice Initiative and Cross-Border Initiative of the early 2000s.

It also highlights success stories from our grant partners over the years, like INFACT (now Corporate Accountability International) and its targeting of General Electric for its investments in the nuclear weapons industry, or the Committee Against Anti-Asian Violence (CAAAV), a grantee throughout the early 1990s and today through PDF's Donor Advised Fund Program. CAAAV continues to build grassroots community power across diverse poor and working-class Asian immigrant communities in New York City.
The featured story in our 2021 Fall Newsletter profiles the history of The Exchange Project, a training program at PDF that began in 1982 and trained over 1100 grassroots organizations over the course of seventeen years.

Former director of the program, Rev. Dr. Andrea Ayvazian, described the program recently, saying, “We were on the road more than 100 days a year, going to different states all over the country. We’d find a retreat center somewhere, say in Charlotte, North Carolina, and invite all the grantees from the state together. Then we’d run trainings on board development, strategic planning, and fundraising, and gather for song and dance at night.”
Today, PDF's Sustainability Project carries on the legacy of The Exchange Project, providing technical assistance and training to strengthen organizations' fundraising capacity, board development and financial planning. Learn more by reading PDF's Fall Newsletter today!
