God's Acre MCC ~ Weekly Newsletter
1st November 2021
Greetings!
Hope for tomorrow was the title of my sermon yesterday. Hope means a desire or wishful expectation, but not a certainty; however Christian hope, is a confidence that something will come to pass, because God has promised it will come to pass.

I am so looking forward to making inroads into returning to church. It’s a perfect time, as the Advent season is all about hope; it’s about looking forward and not back; hope is not negative.

Being hopeful is encouraging, it helps us make intentional choices that help us move forward. Hope builds up and doesn’t tear down; hope simply works; it’s a spiritual tool, rooted in love that builds faith.
Faith is our way forward; if we are rooted in faith, then we will make progress. Faith, at its core, is deep rooted and the expectation of good things to come. It goes beyond hope.

While hope lives in the mind, faith is steeped in the heart and spirit. It can’t be explained away by reason or logic; the importance of faith cannot be
underestimated; people have moved mountains with their faith.
So, God’s Acre folk, will you join me in faith, that we will overcome our difficulties? With God all things are possible.

"I can do all things through GOD who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13

May you all be blessed this week.
In Christ

Rev. Janice

As we heard in Rev. Janice's sermon, on Sunday, this is a critical time for our church finances.

We are really running very low; as a member, or regular online viewer, we are asking for YOUR HELP.

We still have monthly bills / expenses to pay - they don't just go away. This is everyone's church & we need YOU to help us keep it running.

By financially supporting us with your tithes & offerings, we can start to reverse this critical financial crisis.
We know that times are tough & many of you are on a fixed income; however, even $5, $10, $20, $50 - received regularly can (and will) make a big difference.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW

If you have ever been blessed by God, we ask that you bless your church. Please give something back to God.

We have made it very easy to donate, either by mailing a check or using our online option. You can easily donate online, by clicking on the button below

Or, you can also mail in a check, payable to God's Acre MCC, to our PO Box mailing address.

Everything is on track & we are planning on re-opening on 28th November; that is the 1st Sunday of Advent; what an exciting time to be returning to church.

We've been hearing from some of you, that you've had, or are scheduled to have, your COVID booster vaccine; that's such great news to hear.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be letting you know more information, about what to expect, but we can let you know that we are looking forward to seeing you all again very soon.

More updates coming next week, so be sure to open our newsletters every Monday to keep updated.

This week's update come from the Florida Coronavirus Update & Information Group:
Delta has by far out competed all in terms of dominance.

•U.S. labs began preparing last month to prioritize tests to assess whether AY.4.2 can evade antibodies from vaccinated Americans, or from currently authorized monoclonal antibody treatments for the virus.

The process can take up to four weeks.
•It appears vaccination is still effective towards this sub-variant.

We will update you with more information as it become available about this and any other variants of concern.

Don't forget that our borders open to international travelers on Nov 8th, so please be extra careful when you are in stores & amongst larger gatherings of people.

As always: Get vaccinated, Mask Up, Keep your distance, Wash your hands, Stay informed, Get your booster & Please Stay Safe.
We are currently looking for volunteers to be on our new hospitality team; we will be serving coffee & cake outside & need some wiling volunteers to staff this each week.

If you would like to be on this team, just email us at: GodsAcreMCC@aol.com, to let us know & we can add you to the schedule.

USED STAMPS NEEDED PLEASE

We are still asking for your help to collect used postage stamps, to help a charity raise some much needed funds for a charity that supports people living with sight loss and other disabilities to go beyond expectations.

All you need do, is tear off the stamps & collect them until you have a pile & then you can either drop them off at church, or mail them in to the church mailing address.

We'll do the rest & get them to the charity. Thank you all, for your help.
