Save the Date for Our Kitten Shower
We are expecting - kittens that is! From March 1st - 31st, we will be hosting our 3rd Annual Virtual Kitten Shower.

The shelter is preparing for the start of kitten season and for hundreds of kittens to come through our doors needing care in the next several months. Your generosity will give these babies the care they need to grow healthy and strong before they can be adopted into loving homes.

Shop our Amazon Kitten Registry to help us collect the supplies needed to help the tiniest in our care. Then be sure to follow the shelter's Facebook for a special live unboxing event on March 25th at noon!
Meet Christy Thomson
Meet our Community Services Manager, Christy Thomson! Christy recently joined the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County team. She helps Make Happy Happen every day for both pets and people in the community.

Take Action for Pets in the Community
The Pierce County council has introduced a humane pet store ordinance prohibiting pet stores in Pierce county from selling dogs and cats sourced from commercial breeding mills. This ordinance is necessary to cut off the cruel puppy mill pipeline to our county.

What can you do?

If you are a resident of Pierce County, please take 2 minutes to email the entire council at pccouncil@piercecountywa.gov and politely express your support for this ordinance.

The Pierce County Council Public Safety Committee Meeting will take place on 2/28 at 1:30 pm, so your messages of support for Proposed Ordinance No. 2022-10 are needed right away.
