Steve, a 17-year resident of Atwater Village, is passionate about our green/river spaces, business development and safe streets for pedestrians, bikes and cars. He is honored to be a part of the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council.
Steve received a congressional nomination to the United States Air Force Academy, where he majored in engineering and political science. While on active duty, he served as a navigational flight officer during numerous operations worldwide, ultimately attaining the rank of Captain.
After being honorably serving his commitment in the Air Force, Steve moved to Los Angeles with his husband, Brian, a maritime attorney. He continued his public service as an educator, while later attaining his Master’s degree from the Marshall School of Business at USC.
Steve’s passion for public service further deepened when he saw the need for safer communities here in Los Angeles. He parlayed this need into a career as a peace officer. It has been his honor to serve communities throughout Los Angeles. Steve currently holds the rank of Sergeant.
Steve is an advocate for the environment, homelessness and community/business development. He has had the honor of working directly with non-profits like Children’s Institute International and Project E.R.I.N., which shelter and treat victims of domestic violence.
