Westward Home Raises a Record Breaking $260,000 to Help Families Thrive in Orange County

October 20, 2024

The Orange County Community Housing Corporation (OCCHC/SteppingUP) recently hosted Westward Home, a gala aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty, at The Ranch in Anaheim. This western-themed event offered guests an enjoyable evening filled with LIVE music from the Cross Country Line Band, line dancing, an opportunity drawing, and much more.

Executive Director Nora Mendez highlighted the organization's impact over the past 47 years, dedicated to providing affordable housing and education for underserved families and their children. Attendees met families who were once homeless but now have a secure place to call home, along with students who have become the first in their families to graduate from college and embark on their careers. The evening also celebrated our 100th family who successfully purchased their very first home.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our generous sponsors and donors, who helped us achieve a record-breaking $260,000. This incredible support will enhance access to safe housing and essential resources for underserved families, paving the way to a brighter future!
