Leaders in Local Government Awards

October Public Affairs Series: The Road to the 2022 Midterm Elections

 

There is a lot riding on the upcoming Midterm Elections with all Minnesota House and Minnesota Senate seats, as well as the Governor’s race, up for reelection. Join us on October 7 as we hear from two of Minnesota's top political pundits, Jeff Hayden and Brian McClung. Both have years of experience serving in state government and partisan political campaigns. The duo appears regularly on KSTP-TV's "At Issue" and Twin Cities PBS "Almanac." This is part one of a two-part program on the elections! 

2nd Congressional District Candidate Debate


The political climate is changing! The ends of the spectrum have become more polarized and divisive, voters have become unpredictable, fake news and social media have impacted everything. The 2nd Congressional District race is one of the top races with a record amount of spending. This race is a rematch from 2020 and will be watched from all parts of the country.

Coffee Break

Coffee Break at Imagine IT


We visited Imagine IT for last week’s Coffee Break. The members enjoyed flavored coffee, conversations, and during introductions we found out what members have planned for the fall season. Imagine IT provides IT and technology support, guidance, and cyber-security for small to mid-sized organizations.

Ribbon Cutting at CompCare Urgent Care


During the ribbon cutting celebration, Cooper Rendon (founder and owner) provided information about CompCare’s occupational medicine and urgent care services. Ray Kranz (DCR Chamber Board Member) and Mike Supina (City of Eagan Council Member) welcomed CompCare and staff to the Eagan community.

Transportation Candidate Forum


We heard from transportation professionals about projects and funding needs in Dakota County. Candidates running for the state legislature discussed the impact on Minnesota’s transportation system, infrastructure initiatives, and reviewed what is the appropriate funding model for these efforts.

Farmington Rotary Visit


Laura Roehl from the DRC Chamber staff presented to the Farmington Rotary about the Chamber’s initiatives, programs, and advocacy efforts in Dakota County. The group met at the Farm Town Brew Hall in Farmington for lunch.

We will be celebrating the Business Excellence Awards on October 28. As part of the evening’s celebration we do the Wine & Spirits Pull where a portion of the proceeds go to the Charitable Foundation. Women's Luncheon


Join us on September 21 as we head back to Casper's Cherokee of Eagan for a great lunch and networking. Women are invited to meet other Chamber members, introduce their business to the group, and answer the question of the day.

State of the Airport Luncheon


The State of the Airport Annual Luncheon will take place Friday, September 30 at the InterContinental Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport hotel. This premiere Twin Cities business luncheon, hosted by the Airport Foundation MSP and the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), will bring together more than 500 local business and civic leaders to gain insights on the national air travel industry and latest developments at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), one of the more influential drivers of the local economy.

Real Men Wear Pink


Each year, several Board members (Jon Althoff, Scott Swenson, and Mark Lofthus) join up with the American Cancer Society for the Real Men Wear Pink campaign through October to create awareness and raise funds to end breast cancer in our lifetime. Men from the Chamber are invited to join Real Men (Who) Wear Pink by giving back, and you will be invited to a couple events in October. Contact Jon M.
