Hey Beach Nation!
Happy (almost) Halloween! I hope you are recuperating from or prepping for midterms. I also hope you all are getting ready for Oct. 31! I’m excited to see all your cool costumes! Personally, I will be dressing up as Sally from Cars. Besides Halloween, here is some information about campus for the rest of the month:
Want our Elbee "Go Vote" Rapper Tee? You can still get it! Help us win the Ballot Bowl by visiting the online voter registration. Send us a screenshot of your submission to our Instagram account and get your Elbee tee! We will also be doing opportunity drawings to win these t-shirts until Election Day, Nov. 5! We have 14 days left of the competition, let’s get into the voting spirit and put Long Beach State University (LBSU) at the top!
Spooky season is underway, and some exciting events are calling your name! Sustain U is putting on a chilling painting party at the Grow Beach Garden. Paint a Pumpkin is a great way to get into the spirit of Halloween and create some fall memories with your friends. Stop by from 2 to 3 p.m. and get to painting! Another fun event that not only celebrates Halloween, but also lets you de-stress from midterms is Spooky Charms, brought to you by the Dream Success Center. This event invites you to make arts and crafts as a form of relaxation. Visit the center Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. to get started!
I also want to highlight an amazing event that took place on campus at the USU North Lawn. We raised the Pride flag in honor of OUTober. This was the first time this has happened in LBSU history! Go check it out and don’t miss out on the last few events the LGBTQIA+ community has in store. Also, during the newest Neighborly Nikki episode, we celebrated OUTober in style... and in costume! Give it a watch to learn more about LGBTQIA+ programs and services that are offered on campus.
We’re about halfway through the semester, and it’s time to put our game faces on! Let’s push through to the end and continue to succeed! Until next time, I wish you a happy and safe Halloween. Go Beach!
