Now Offering LEXSY Protein Expression
We are now offering the LEXSY (Leishmania Expression System) a recombinant protein production system. LEXSY is based on an S1-classified protozoan L. tarentolae. "It combines the advantages of prokaryotic systems (simple handling, fast growth) with those of eukaryotic ones (efficient folding, post-translational modifications)."

LEXSY has produced more than 20 crystal structures of proteins so far including human Cu/Zn Superoxide dismutase, Channelrhodopsin 2, or Legumain.
Learn More about LEXSY Protein Expression
Download the LEXSY Brochure to learn more including use cases for structural biology including NMR and crystallography. It also contains detailed features & configurations as well as references.
Read a use case in which LEXSY was used successfully "to express an active dimeric chitinase from the gastrointestinal nematode Trichuris suis (Pig whipworm), which was suitable for in vitro and in vivo assays as well as for crystallization."
Serial Crystallography with Multi-Stage Merging of Images
In a paper at Acta Crystallographica Section F, Herbert J. Bernstein et al. examine how the use of KAMO and BLEND can be refined when managing the merging of large numbers of data sets from serial crystallography. They observe "it should be possible to greatly improve the efficacy of data-clustering software by combining quasi-independent information in a multi-stage partitioning strategy."
New Lab Program
A reminder that Our New Lab program is available for those planning a new lab or are expanding their lab. It offers special discounts, startup bundles, and expert support and service. If you are starting or expanding your lab contact us and we'll explain the program in detail. Or if you know someone who is starting or expanding their lab please share this information with them.
Upcoming Events
At MiTeGen, we sponsor numerous events, conferences, workshops and symposiums throughout the year. These events include fields such as structural biology, crystallography, cryo-EM, beamline research and more. We believe in supporting researchers and our industry. Listed below are two upcoming events you might find interesting.
The Early Career Symposium (ECSI 2022) at IBBR - Unmasking the Structure-Function Relationship of Biomolecules in Disease and Therapeutics is September 15th in Rockville, Maryland. It is a forum for senior graduate students and early-stage post-docs to share their exciting new scientific research in the fields of disease biology and biotherapeutics development.
The 79th Pittsburgh Diffraction Conference is October 2nd to the 4th and is hosted by the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory. It will discuss progress in fundamental and applied diffraction and crystallographic research ranging from materials discovery for functional devices to targeting viruses for drug development.
Looking For More Events, Workshops and Conferences
If you are looking for more events visit our events page. It lists conferences, workshops, symposiums, user meetings and more.

Topics include structural biology, material science, crystallography, cryo-EM, beamline research and more.
