CalOptima, County of Orange and OC Health Care Agency (HCA) collaborated to host vaccine events at CalOptima’s office in Orange. These events were intended to improve health equity and access for CalOptima’s underserved populations. CalOptima Provides Health Resources for Ages 0–21
CalOptima’s Health Guides can help you share with others the importance of well-care visits and vaccinations for infants to age 21.
Well-care visits are a key part of a person’s growth and are different from a sick visit. At a well-care visit, a doctor looks at health records and reviews physical and mental growth. The doctor completes a physical exam, developmental screening and also orders lab tests, such as blood lead screening, and gives health education as needed. CalOptima encourages all members to call their children’s doctor to schedule their next well-care visit and get needed vaccines. Based on age, Health Guide topics may include healthy eating, physical activity, sexual health and more.
