  3. Nov 15, UC- Santa Cruz! Free trip with food and tour. Interested? Let us know ASAP that you want to come (see below) Meet Friday morning 9AM to go to campus and return 3PM. Spaces filling fast, sign up here.

  5. Latine Heritage Month- events This Wednesday 10/23 - movie screening; and 10/31 on Halloween - big Dia de los Muertos fiesta.

Special Today Event -- Tues Oct 22


You’re Invited to a Virtual Information Session for Community College Transfer Students! Tuesday October 22nd, 8:00pm to 9:00pm ET.


Admissions representatives from the undergraduate programs at Pomona College, Amherst College, Princeton University, Williams College and Yale University will hold a virtual transfer session. The session will cover information particularly relevant for community college students and U.S. military veterans and servicemembers. 


Topics will include:

·       The approach to academic preparation and the application process

·       Undergraduate admissions policies

·       Financial aid, affordability and support systems for transfer and veteran students

·       Student and residential life on our transfer-friendly campuses

Documentary Screening and Q&A with Eduardo Chavez

Join us for a Special Screening and Q&A with Eduardo Chavez, Grandson of César Chávez Co-sponsored by The Art of Community and ASFC, this event celebrates Latine Heritage Month with a screening of Hailing Cesar, a documentary by Eduardo Chavez, grandson of Civil Rights icon César Chávez. The film captures Eduardo’s personal journey as he connects with his grandfather’s legacy and explores critical issues like human rights, immigration, personal identity, and social justice. Following the screening, Eduardo will participate in a live Q&A session, sharing insights about his family’s activism and the continued relevance of César Chávez’s work today.

Join us for an enlightening conversation on the cultural significance of Día de los Muertos with Laurie Scolari, Jerry Robledo, and Hilda Fernandez. Participants will also have the chance to build their own altars in honor of their loved ones.
