Can my buyers bring their pets to a showing?

We know it’s become more acceptable to bring your favorite pet to public places like supermarkets, home improvement centers, and even some restaurants. What about a property showing? Outside of a service animal, probably not. Buyer’s agents, don’t assume it's ok to bring your buyer’s pets to a showing. CVR MLS staff has been told this is becoming a common occurrence and many sellers are upset when buyers bring their pets through a home tour.

Sellers may prohibit pets (excluding service animals) from entering the home. Listing agents should check with their sellers and add any necessary pet restrictions to the instructions to the showing fields. But even if there are no stated restrictions, buyer’s agents should get permission before allowing a pet (again, excluding service animals) to tag along inside the property.

Square Footage Tip
Q: What should I do if the square footage for my listing does not match the tax record?

A: If your square footage source is anything other than the tax record, you will need to upload documentation to back up the measurements you’ve entered.
