Parent Video Series From the TIES Center on Inclusive Practices and Policies: Parent Video Series: Supporting and Extending Children’s Learning Within the Home
For children with significant cognitive disabilities, their first teachers are their families. What and how families teach their children strongly influences their learning. When families support learning at home, they help to pave the road for success at school and continued life-long learning. It can also open up stronger avenues for collaboration between home and school.

CPAC Presents Transition Tuesday
The Transition Bill of Rights provides information regarding transition services for parents of students receiving special
education services in grades 6-12, including community based services for students who are 18-22. This session will offer an opportunity for parents and their young adults to explore the components of a variety of “transition only” options, when these services are appropriate for an individual student, and how and when to request such services through the IEP/PPT process. Participants will learn how to structure IEP transition goals and objectives to support requests for community based services. Resources will be discussed.
