LARGO POLICE FAMILY SAFETY DAY
Thanks to a partnership between the Largo Police Department and Walmart, Largo Police Family Safety Day will be held Saturday, November 6 from 10:30am-1:30pm at the Largo Police Department. This event will feature a station tour, SWAT display, bicycle safety, inflatables, music, and more. Also, a few lucky kids will go with a new bike!
CELEBRATING SMALL BUSINESS MONTH
Small businesses are essential to the fabric of Largo’s community – creating jobs, energizing the local economy, and supporting the community’s vibrancy with ingenuity, perseverance, and philanthropy. In recognition of these entrepreneurs, the City of Largo is encouraging residents, businesses, and visitors to recognize and support small businesses during the month of November, known as Largo Small Business Month. When was the last time that you visited one of our recreation facilities? We want to welcome you back during our Recreation Expo week, November 7-13! LARGO COMMUNITY CENTER TURNS 10!
The Largo Community Center has turned 10 years old and they want to celebrate with YOU! They are throwing a big party and everyone is cordially invited. Enjoy music, outdoor games, ice cream and a soda bar. The event is free and will be on Saturday, November 13th from 11am to 1pm.
DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
Largo's Down Payment Assistance program is available to help households purchase a house, townhome or condo within the city limits of Largo. The program can now help up to $55,700 towards downpayment/closing costs for households below 80% median income and up to $35,000 towards downpayment/closing costs for households between 80-120% median income. Additional down payment funding may be available through the State Bond Program. Please contact National Foundation for Debt Management 727-254-5353 or Suncoast Housing Connections 727-442-7075 to apply. These agencies also provide homebuyer education and housing counseling to prepare for homeownership.
IMPROVEMENTS AT ABC FINE WINE AND SPIRITS
A Development Order was issued on October 25, 2021, to allow demolition of a portion of the existing Town Center Plaza shopping center and construction of a 10,000 square foot, single-story, stand-alone retail building, landscaping, signage, and associated infrastructure improvements as depicted on the site plan for ABC Fine Wine and Spirits. The DO is for the parcel located on the southeast corner of N Missouri Ave and Auburn St. NE (PIN: 27-29-15-55368-000-0150). The property consists of approximately 0.72 acres and is designated Commercial General (CG) on the City of Largo Future Land Use Map.

As a reminder, City facilities will be closed on Thursday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day. Join the City as we honor our veterans at the Military Court of Honor in Largo Central Park during the annual Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11, beginning at 11:11am.
