Residential Parking Guide
With the holiday season just around the corner, residents may be looking forward to spending time with family both near and far. With the anticipation of spending time with guests from out of town, Code Compliance would like to remind Lakeway residents about our City Ordinance pertaining to parking on residential streets. Here is some guidance about parking to ensure a smooth experience for your guests:

PARKING ON SHOULDERS
(sec. 18.05.003)
If you can't park in a driveway and need to park along a roadway, vehicles must be parked wholly on the shoulder of any street. However, if the shoulder is too narrow, up to 18 inches of space can be used of a paved street or designated recreational path. This exception however does not apply to Lakeway Boulevard, Lakeway Drive, Lohmans Crossing Road or Hurst Creek Road. Additionally, vehicles may not be parked in a manner that could potentially block access for an emergency vehicle.

VEHICLES PARKED ON RIGHT-OF-WAY
(sec. 18.05.005)
Trucks, buses, trailers, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, boats, houseboats or similar waterborne vehicles (other than conventional cars, pickup trucks, motorcycles and vans) cannot park on any public right-of-way.

RESIDENTIAL PARKING
(sec. 18.05.006)
Motor vehicles must be parked on either a driveway or the shoulder of a paved street. Parking on the lawn or other parts of your property is prohibited.
