A Word from Fr. Tim

The Holy Spirit is Set Loose

The period of Eastertide, also known as The Great Fifty Days of Easter, began with the lighting of the Paschal Candle during the Easter Vigil. The candle symbolizes Christ's light that leads us from death to life and remains lit throughout the season. As Paul reminded us, the resurrection is a time for rejoicing in new life, new beginnings, and new creation.

This Sunday marks the end of Eastertide with the Day of Pentecost, commemorating the Holy Spirit's bestowal of power and authority on the disciples to spread the Gospel to all people. During the Liturgy of the Word, we will hear parishioners speak in different languages about the Holy Spirit's arrival. We will also witness the sacrament of baptism for four new members in the body of Christ and partake in the Holy Eucharist to celebrate the work God is and will be doing through our community. It will be a day of joy and liveliness!

Our service will be at 10:00 am, and we encourage everyone to wear red, the day's color. Pentecost is also known as the church's birthday, and we invite you to join us in celebrating the many ways we worship and experience God through the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit. We’ll see you on Sunday!

Holy Spirit Blessings,

Father Tim

Please note that Fr. Tim will be out of the office next week, Monday - Friday, May 29 - June 2. In case of a pastoral emergency, please contact Trisha Voiles, Sr. Warden, 770-823-8116.
