We are excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity for Southern Virginia Higher Education Center students, The Dr. Bill Bell Medical Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing a career in the medical field. The generous donation from the Dr. Bill Bell Medical Foundation will be awarded for the next ten years.

The FOUNDATION offers scholarship opportunities for anyone who attends classes through the SVHEC. If you would like to make a contribution towards any scholarship, please use the "donate now" button.

Hats & Horses 2022
Mark your calendars for the
3rd Annual Hats & Horses Fundraiser. This high-stepping event will be held Saturday May 7, 2022 and coincide with the Kentucky Derby.

As a way to keep the event exciting and fresh, we are thrilled to announce
The Carolina Estate as the venue this year. The Carolina Estate is located in Person County, just 17 miles from South Boston. Carolina Estate Owners, Sheila and Martin Persson are proud to showcase their beautiful space by stating, "It's where southern charm meets modern elegance."

Plus our theme this year, is gambling-for-fun action
with Casino Party Aces! There will be popular novelty
games featured like, Roulette, Poker, Craps, and Blackjack, etc. We will also have prizes for those who've won the most 'money' at the end of the night and numerous raffles & giveaways.

Spring 2022 Semester, Another Successful Scholarship Cycle

The FOUNDATION Scholarship Committee recently awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to 19 students attending classes at SVHEC in the Spring!

These scholarships are for students enrolled in Workforce programs including Welding, IT, HVAC, EMT, etc. In addition, scholarships were awarded to students enrolled in degree programs through the SVHEC partners: Longwood University, Old Dominion University, Southside Virginia Community College, and Danville Community College.
