THE LATEST ON CRT AND BOOK BANS
Bridgett Lewis of The SOM Podcast, and owner of GRND Coffee House interviews Dr. Mckinna, and Nzingha Nommo.
Afriware Books was interviewed by Bridgett Lewis of "Souls of Many - The SOM Podcast" just in time for Banned Book Week Sept. 18-24, 2022.

You'll hear Afriware Books founder, Nzingha Nommo share her thoughts at 1:42 and 10:26 of the video. It was an informative discussion. Unfortunately, there were technical difficulties, just before ending her segment. Her point was that "culturally relevant books was the secret ingredient missing from the books she read in school. She became more interested in books, because she could identify with them. Take a listen here. Read our blog on book bans here.

BLACK MERMAIDS, BEFORE DISNEY
Hopefully you've seen some of the little Black girl's reactions to Disney's trailer of "The LIttle Mermaid" running rampant on social media. Well, we thought it would be helpful to share the books that have mermaid characters that preceded Ariel. Visit our category on Black Mermaids here.
