6 MONTHS IN OFFICE - COMMUNITY CHECK-IN TOWN HALL
As I come to the end of my 6th month in office, I'd like to get your input on how my staff and I are doing. We've been able to take many of your suggestions and turn them into tangible projects that will make our District safer, cleaner and more livable for all. What issues would you like me to continue addressing? Are there new issues that require our attention? Are there other things you'd like to see happen in the district? This is your chance to share your suggestions.
Join my staff and me for a conversation about the future of our community. Please register here and also feel free to email my staff at district4@sanjoseca.gov if you have suggestions on topics or if you have questions you'd like us to answer during the Town Hall. Again, thank you all for your input and support. I look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,

BERRYESSA LIBRARY REOPENING ON JUNE 28th
I'm very excited to announce that the Berryessa Library will be reopening to the public on Monday, June 28 at 1pm. This library is truly one of the top community amenities in our district and I believe it is one of the top libraries in San Jose. Please join me in welcoming back this critical resource to our community.
During this time, we will continue to provide limited library services and require customers to wear a face mask/covering when visiting any location. Express Pickup service will still be available at the King Library and online chat services will be offered 7-days a week. For more information and details about the Library’s reopening, visit sjpl.org/reopening.

UPDATE ON NEED TO CONSERVE WATER THROUGH EXTREME DROUGHT
Due to a declaration of drought emergency by Valley Water which makes up 90% of the water supply for San Jose Water customers, all residential, business and commercial customers are required to cut their water usage by 15% from 2019 levels. To meet this requirement the following rules are in effect:
- Limit your watering and irrigation using potable water to two days a week with no more than 15 minutes a day per station. Watering will be allowed on Mondays and Thursdays for odd numbered and numberless addresses and will be allowed on Tuesdays and Fridays for even numbered addresses
- No watering between 10:00am and 8:00pm.
- A prohibition on the use of potable water for filling and refilling decorative fountains and ornamental lakes ponds more than one foot deep except in conditions where aquatic life of significant value exists.
- Washing of vehicles is restricted to commercial car washing facilities only and those facilities must use recycled or recirculated water.
- The use of potable water to wash building structures, sidewalks, walkways, driveways, patios and other non porous areas is prohibited except in the case of protecting health and safety.
How to find out if you are in San Jose water service area
You are likely to notice that our park grass and ponds will see a significant change in appearance over the coming weeks and months, this is typical in summer and especially drought. Do your best to conserve as much water as possible so we can prevent increases in restrictions in this extreme drought year.
