As summer winds down and we all look to the fall months in NB, I certainly hope that you all had some time to rest and refresh after these past two years of COVID. While we all understand that COVID is not gone away, we in the Nursing Home sector have certainly embraced the concept of living with COVID. I commend each and every one of you for your efforts to get back to our “new normal”.
I am hopeful that fall 2022 is going to bring opportunity for the sector. Opportunity to focus on quality improvements that matter, opportunity to gather and provide input into the Long Term Care Act, and opportunity to support each other in a way that was not possible over the past two years. We at NBANH are most excited to rebuild and re-imagine our relationships with all homes as well as our stakeholders. With our support and staffing complement gaps filled, we are here to respond to your needs in a more timely manner, we thank you all for your patience through this time of transition.
While I welcome these opportunities for the sector, I also am prepared for the obstacles. I continue to work diligently to remove those obstacles from our path as we progress. Throughout this process, I will continue to shout my message from the mountain tops “our LTC leaders and front line staff are the most passionate and committed teams in the LTC field and I am very proud to be associated with you all”.
Wishing you all a great wrap up to summer vacations and schedules. I hope to see many of you at the 50th anniversary celebration in September.
A challenged was proposed to two students from the Nutrition program, Karianne Cloutier and Alyson Devost, to plan a strawberry-flavored culinary workshop with the residents of Les Résidences Jodin. With the help of employees and students from the activities department, Karianne and Alyson whipped up some strawberry desserts for all to prep, cook and savour. The smell of fresh strawberries filled the halls of the homes, and the tasty treats were devoured by all without hesitation! The strawberries were a gift from the owners of the “Ferme Bon Accueil” in Saint-Basile.

Hi everyone! I grew up in Geary, NB which is about 20 minutes outside of Fredericton. I am thrilled to be starting my career here with the NBANH. I went to school at Oulton college for dental assisting but soon after discovered my love for administrative work and have always had an interest in the nursing world, I knew this opportunity would be a perfect fit. I live with my three cats, my nephew and partner in our first home. I can’t wait to have the chance to meet you all and talk to you, whether that be on the phone, through email or face to face!
